In the Sector Sur (South Sector) where today is located the University of Queen Mercedes, existed a Plaza called "of the Conquerors" with a Monumental Source in whom there were three statues, one representing the Iberian Peninsula, another the River Guadalquivir and a third one representing an American river. These statues are in the back prairie of the Jardín de las Delicias, recently restored and extended towards the river, annexed to the wharf of the Delicias. In this Plaza also existed statues of the conquerors remaining only one in its original location, concretely in the gardens of the Colegio Mayor Hernando Colón, the Pinzón one is in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Palos de la Frontera, and in Jeréz de los Caballeros are two statues, one in the Park of Santa Lucia that corresponds to Columbus and another one at the entrance of the City in front of a Romanesque style arc.
