A Journey by River Guadalquivir, with visit to the Cartuja and Maestranza [A Journey By River]
Description of Regular Guided Tour to Cartuja and the
Maestranza, and journey by river Guadalquivir.
The excursion starts with a sight-seeing tour in bus across the famous Isabel II Bridge to discover the neighbourhood of Triana, the old sailors and potters’ neighbourhood, where you will see San Jorge’s Castle, built in the 10th Century.
At the ‘muelle de la Sal’ (Salt Wharf), just like the sailors of old, we will take a beautiful boat trip which will transport us past the wonderful buildings and bridges along the banks of the River Guadalquivir.
We will then continue towards the Monastery of the Cartuja, where for three years the great Christopher Columbus planned his trip towards the unknown, the New World.
The trip will end with a tour of the Bullring of the Real Maestranza, considered to be the bullring with the greatest bullfighting tradition in Spain and also the Bullfighting Museum. Drop-off at hotels or pick-up points.
